In an effort to celebrate and enhance our children's memories of Monte Vista, there will be special activities planned for the Class of 2012!  The sixth grade class sponsors a group fundraiser to help offset the cost for these special activities, and every family is encouraged to support these efforts. 

6th Grade T-shirts
Special t-shirts for 6th graders to wear on spirit days, field trips, camp, or any day designed by one of our students.  Order and payments due by November 4th.  Order Form

A special thanks to the students that participated, we earned a profit of $3,514.41 that will be applied to Camp High Trails.


6th Grade Activities
High Trails (Camp Edwards)
Our 6th graders will spend a week in the wilderness on 1/30/12 - 2/3/12.  We are going to Camp Edwards which is run by High Trails staff, and is located in the San Bernardino National Forest.  Students will enjoy the wilderness, and learn the importance of both understanding and protecting it.  They will learn more about themselves and their potential, and discover how to work and communicate with their peers.  Camp High Trails website

 
Pickwick/Bowling
A very fun field trip for 6th graders, an opportunity to go ice skating & bowling with friends!

Promotion
Wednesday, June 13th @ 6:30 p.m., lower field
A ceremony to congratulate our 6th graders on completing elementary school, and celebration as they look forward to middle school.  The 5th grade families will host desserts immediately following the ceremony.

Breakfast
Thursday, June 14th @ 8:30-9:45 a.m., auditorium
Our 6th graders will gather for breakfast before they are released into summer vacation!  A fun opportunity to sign yearbooks, take pictures with friends, and say goodbye to elementary school. 


Preparing for Middle School
Transitioning from elementary to middle school brings many questions and concerns for both parents and students.  Parents can help their preteens prepare for this transition by gathering information, and staying involved.    

Parents are encouraged to check the Rosemont Middle School website often, and subscribe to the Rosemonitor newsletter bulletin to receive information as it becomes available.


Parent Meetings at Rosemont
Thursday, March 15th @ 6:00-7:00 p.m.
This meeting is for current 6th grade parents, we encourage you to attend as you will hear lots of helpful information in preparation for the transition to middle school.

Thursday, March 22nd @ 6:30 p.m. for Special Education
This meeting is for current 6th grade parents.

Rosemont Open House
Thursday, March 22nd @ 7:00-8:30 p.m.
An opportunity for current 6th grade students, and parents to visit Rosemont.



Pertussis Vaccine Requirement
All students in grades 7-12 must show proof of Tdap vaccination before being allowed to start school in September, 2011.  Every student needs to show proof that they received a Pertussis vaccine after their 7th birthday.
